An occupational therapist developed the Form Constancy activity program to support visual perceptual development. This resource focuses on Visual Form Constancy and includes information about perceptual development, various games, activities, and worksheets. Visual form constancy is the ability to recognize that a shape or object remains the same despite changes in size, position, direction, orientation, and distance, e.g., an object is still the same whether seen from the top, side, or underneath. Visual form constancy is also the ability to mentally manipulate an object into different positions just by looking at it. This program is lots of fun and includes a variety of activities to stimulate and support visual perceptual development for children between the age of 4 years to 8/9 years. Foxy's Writing Book 1 is a remedial approach to writing. It incorporates cutting, art and craft work, baking, folding, writing, tracing, tactile learning, gross and fine motor movement, etc. into the process of learning to read and write the alphabet. The book is intended to have a sensory-based approach so that preschool learners, grade R learners or learners with support needs can more easily grasp the alphabet.

This resource was compiled by an occupational therapist, specifically for learners in the foundation phase who struggle with using the correct punctuation (e.g., capital letters, full stop) when writing sentences. The strategy is particularly suitable for visual perception and spatial planning difficulties and challenges in attention and focus. Learners with perceptual and attention, and concentration challenges often find it challenging to use punctuation correctly during writing tasks. Sentences often flow "together" due to a lack of correct punctuation. This resource includes an easy classroom strategy and can be used for "beginner" sentence writers or a remedial strategy for learners with challenges. The strategy is easy to learn and apply and includes several worksheets and activities. What this program includes: We are going to spend a few sessions learning to correctly produce the /f/-sound. This comprehensive, 14 page, program includes the following: Level 1: Auditory Discrimination - The child must be able to HEAR that there is a difference between sounds in words. Level 2 : Placement of the tongue for the correct production of the /f/-sound. Level 3: Isolation Level 4: Production in non-sense syllables. Level 5: Production in words (beginning, end, middle). Level 6: Production in sentences. Level 7: Carryover to spontaneous speech. It can also be given as homework.

This workbook should be used in conjunction with the DBE Rainbow Grade 3 Home Language book.
