Afrikaans – Writing and Presenting Activity

This activity could be used in an Afrikaans HL or FAL classroom for Grades 4 to 6, depending on their level of understanding. This writing activity takes the students through the writing process of brainstorming, mind-mapping, drafting, and presenting their work. Students are given two topics to choose from and they then have to draft and write a descriptive paragraph on one of these topics. Students are given a checklist to ensure they follow all instructions. They are also given the rubric so that they know and understand how they will be marked and what is expected of them. This could either be done as a formal or informal assessment.
