Teaching values rather than rules.

Teaching values in in your classroom helps students learn and practice healthy attitudes and behavior, such as respect, honesty and kindness. Education on good character helps students develop good habits and virtues.

Values enhance classroom management because students know what’s expected and learn to abide by those standards. It’s easier to teach children (and adults) who know how to exercise self-control, show patience and work hard.

Rules give the perceived idea of controlling a group or classroom rather then facilitate positive behavior.
