Resource Description

Compound Words Interactive PowerPoint Lesson Bundle
Includes *BONUS* printable support pack.

This resource was created to assist young learners who are starting to learn how to read by developing important early literacy skills that form the foundations for learning how to read.

Compound words are formed when two smaller words are combined to make a new word.
They are important for children to learn as an early literacy skill because they help to master the concepts of blending and segmenting words (putting words together and taking them apart) before they are introduced to blending letter sounds together to read words.
Includes 10 slides of compound words.

This interactive PowerPoint game is perfect for using on a home computer or class computer. It could also be used as a whole class game if you connect it to a class projector. This is a digital resource, it is not intended to be printed.
