Resource Description

This test paper is a good way for teachers to analyze how much their learners know. As we all know that Mathematics is a subject that requires basic fundamentals as a building block into learning new content. This baseline assessment will be very useful for those teachers who are receiving a class of students whom they are not farmiliar with (haven’t taught before). Teachers will be able to outline weaknesses and strengths of their learners. They will be able to see those students who truly need to be scaffolded as we learn through the year. This test has the following questions: Using the four operations to solve general calculations without using the calculator; Using BODMAS rule to solve problems without using the calculator; Solving problems involving fractions without the use of a calculator; Completing numerical and geometric patterns; Distinguishing betweeen terminating decimals and recurring decimals. The taxonomic levels are mainly 1 and 2, whereas 3 and 4 only contribute 20% of the total mark the test holds. Enjoy!
