- Max snorkling under the sea cover page.
- 9 Counting pages (differentiated)
- Number symbols 0-10 flashcards
- Number names zero-ten flashcards
How to use the counting resource:
- Begin by printing the resource materials. Once printed, laminate each card to ensure durability and protection against wear and tear. After laminating, carefully cut out each card to create individual, manageable pieces for use in the activity.
- The educator will introduce the activity by showcasing each card to the learner. Each card features an illustration of Max snorkeling under the sea, accompanied by a specific number of fish. The educator should encourage the learner to observe the image closely.
- After displaying the card, the learner will count the number of fish that Max saw while snorkeling. To engage the learner’s interaction further, they have multiple options for indicating their answer. Options include
- Pointing to the correct number on a separate number chart or board with their finger.
- Circling the number using a dry-erase marker on a whiteboard.
- Placing a peg or marker on the appropriate number to indicate their choice.
- In addition to the counting cards, this resource set includes cards featuring fish images with a blank block next to each image. This allows for further interaction with the content. Learners can:
- Write the corresponding number symbol (numeral) and the number name (e.g., “5” and “five”) in the designated space.
- Utilize flashcards provided within the set to match the correct number symbol and number name under each picture, reinforcing their understanding and recognition of numbers.
