Resource Description

With this cute summer reading worksheet, we’ll help prevent “summer slide”, learning loss, or as we call it regression.

I’ve created this printable summer writing prompt to not only improve reading, vocabulary comprehension, strengthen focus and critical thinking, encourage a love of literature, but to benefit our young minds with this easy summery prompt which is sure to help with informational and text retention, improve the understanding of a main idea, develop communication skills, build logical thinking and learn to put things into their own words or rephrase things in their own terms.

We don’t want to send the kids off for the long break without some form of educational influence and easy assignment, this one would be perfect as it gives the freedom to select their own age and developmentally appropriate read which children will find more freedom and options as such much more personal and engaging then being assigned a one for all book in particular.

I’ve added a second page for the students to depict the story by “creating their own cover” for the book they’ve chosen, offering some more creative freedom and fun into this lesson print.
