Resource Description
Poetree involves writing a poem about a tree which follows a predictable pattern. These poems don’t rhyme, and are composed of 5-6 lines, using specific parts of speech and figurative language. A structured, scaffolded approach which will produce great Poetree!
An ideal writing activity that can be used throughout the Intermediate Phase ( Grade 4 – Grade 6). Examples used are poems written by my Grade 6 learners. Animated PPT (15 slides) for instructional purposes, printable graphic organisers and a rubric for Informal assessment. Editable PPT and PDF.
