HISTORY – GRADE 5 TERM 3 ASSESSMENT (SOCIAL SCIENCE)

This resource contains the assessment task and memo for the term 3 social sciences history component.

The task is CAPS compliant. It is divided into 3 sections of lower order, middle order and higher order questions.

Total for this task is 30 marks. The task is based on the term 3 work on Ancient Egypt. It is in word document format so it can be edited to suit your needs.

Lower Order:

• True/false questions
• match column A to column B

Middle Order

• definitions are provided, learners need to provide the correct word
• Questions on Pharaohs in Ancient Egypt
• Text on the Rosetta stone provided – learners need to answer questions based on the text

Higher Order (Paragraph writing)

• words are given to learners
• they need to write a paragrpah using the words
• rubric to mark the paragraph is provided

The task is 6 pages long and the memo is 6 pages long.

On the front page there is space for analysis and the task is broken down question by question.
