Resource Description

This video is interactive in that pupils may be able to draw along while watching, or simply watch in a fun, easy-to-relate to video about the various aspects of Abstract Art and how it is purely subjective, thought-provoking and or could be downright weird, depending entirely on your point of view.

Learners become comfortable with the idea that there is NO WRONG OR RIGHT in relation to Abstract Art. It basically is an art form that just about ANYBODY can do.

Apart from the 7 minute video which can be replayed or paused and discussed during lessontime, there is a worksheet/ activity sheet which is an activity for learners to be able to create their idea of something interesting or at least, thought-provoking. They can try several different versions of the same picture until they’re relatively happy that their picture can be appreciated in some way or another.

It can be used for all grades either as a starter in Visual Arts, or for revision with older grades. (High school)

Suitable for Homeschooling too.
