Resource Description

Do your learners get to tests or exams and they’ve forgotten what they did in Week 1 of the term? Don’t know what to do for Grade 4 Maths Homework? Do you want meaningful practice to get learners started in the morning? This spiral review is right for you!

What is Spiral Review?

Spiral review takes the maths curriculum and spirals the practice so that learners are practicing a little bit of everything every week. Research has shown that this is the most effective way for learners to remember maths concepts taught in the past.

What makes this Spiral Review special?

At the start of Grade 4, Term 1, learners will start by practising concepts taught at the end of Term 3 CAPS. As the term progresses, new Grade 4 concepts are spiralled in (see what I did there) so that learners are constantly practising a mixture of current and past concepts according to the CAPS curriculum.

Why only seven problems per day?

Seven is a brilliant number because it sounds so much less than 10 and yet it is enough to be able to practice all concepts. Don’t be deceived, 7 problems per day, 4 days per week for 10 weeks is 280 maths problems that get practised in a term.

What you get

  • 1 worksheet per week with seven problems per day from Monday to Thursday
  • A learner answer sheet per worksheet for learners to keep their answers organised and track their progress
  • A memorandum per week with detailed answers
