Resource Description

In Grades R-3 the reading brain should form new neurological pathways which connect letters and sounds (a child is not born with these pathways). Only when these pathways are well developed, can words be read AUTOMATICALLY (opposed to sound by sound). Phonemic awareness is the passport to the phonological processor in the reading brain.

These exercises are ideal for:

1 The child in Grade R who is STARTING with reading instruction

2 The Grade 1 learner who have not attended Grade R

3 The struggling reader Grades 1-3
