Spelling Practice

This resource is a practical, easy-to-use way of practising spelling. (The lists of words are based on The Essential Spelling List by Schonell.) The table on the worksheets is designed as follows: Each word should be read aloud; then reread and written down; then read a third time, covered up and written from memory. The words are then marked and, if any are incorrect, they should be rewritten.

A page with rectangles of the correct size for the learners to use to cover the ‘Read’ and ‘Copy’ columns before they attempt to write the words on their own

Pages that are ready to use for spelling practice

A page which is a template for you to use (with chosen words from the lists given, or your own words)

Pages of lists of words for cutting out as needed
