This document consists of a summary exercise. The learners is asked to read the passage supplied and to reduce the content according to the instructions given.

The passage is 270 words in length. It has to be reduced to between 70 and 80 words.

The worksheet tests the leaner’s ability to:

*  Identify the main points in the passage.

*  Reduce the passage according to the instructions.

*  Rewrite the facts into his own words.
