Let’s go Shopping

This resource has been created to encourage ‘real life’ shopping. It is suggested that the learners work in pairs or groups of three. The cards can be used as a ‘Search the Room’ activity for older pupils at an abstract level or at desks for those that need concrete experiences. Included in the set is ‘Farm Money’ – an optional extra which is useful for working out change at a concrete level. Please note, this should not detract from teaching South African currency. The cards encourage multi-tasking and consolidate story sums, addition, subtraction, and multiplication. Price lists are included. They can be used throughout the year for consolidation of concepts.
