Pretending to read – Picture story – Thembi and the Singing Tree

Thembi is feeling sad and not playing with the other children. She realises that she is struggling to see so her mother takes her to the optometrist. Find out what happens when she goes to the optometrist and how she feels at the end of the story.

This is a picture story with questions included on each slide to encourage the imagination. The learners must look at the pictures and make up their own words to the story. This lesson includes an activity where the learners copy words from the story, sequence pictures and talk about question words.
